Australian Fan Fiction

Chapter 1

Eight years I have been waiting to go to Australia and we have spent the best part of a year planning the trip so we can make the most of the weather out there. Then I go and get sick the week before we are due to take off! Portia’s been amazing as usual though bringing me tea and caring for me like only she knows how to. We have had so many people invade our home from doctors to pharmacists all with cases full of medication. The crew at the show are desperate to get me up and well again so we do not have to cancel the trip. I think I am finally starting to feel a little better though, after five days of lying in bed coughing my guts up. I at least have energy to think about the trip now, which is more than what I have had the last few days. A gentle tap at the door rouses me from my thoughts. “Come in” I croak as I try to speak but the illness once again overtakes me. The door opens to reveal my wife carrying a breakfast tray with yet another mug of tea and various other treats. I know it sounds clichéd, but I really do fall more and more in love with her everyday. “Hey baby, how are you feeling?” she says whilst placing the tray on my lap and sitting down next to me on the bed. “A little better actually, I think all these tablets they have me taking are finally working. Either that or I am just high!” I laugh. Portia tries to laugh but she can’t hide her concern about how ill I have been.

“As long as you are feeling a little better that’s all that matters and please remember not to push yourself to be ready for Australia babe that can wait. I just want to make sure your feeling 100% again okay?”

“Of course honey, but honestly I am feeling so much better than I have the last few days! I even had the energy to think about going to Australia earlier can you imagine that?”

“Haha awww, well I’m glad you are feeling a little better but please try to get some rest okay? Now are you sure you still want me to go to the salon? I can always push it back for a few days”

“I will don’t worry Port, and no don’t be silly babe I’m feeling much better. You go I’ll be fine here resting. I can’t wait to see what the new cut’s going to look like! And if anything happens you’ll be the first person I ring yeah?”

“Okay…as long as you’re sure?”

“Yes now go before I change my mind!” I laugh and lean over to give her a soft kiss on the lips. She smiles before returning my kiss and jumping off the bed. “Bye baby” I say. “See you later darling” she returns before leaving the room.

Two Days Later…

As I reach up to get the last case down off the top shelf I feel two arms wrap themselves around my waste. “Hey baby” I say curling into my wife’s warm embrace. “Hey yourself” she whispers into my ear before giving it a gentle kiss. “Are you sure you’re still up for this trip? I do not want you to push yourself too far.”

“Babe, we have been through this okay I feel as good as new!”

We have had this conversation several times since she got back from the salon the other day. I know she’s only concerned for my health but this is a trip I really do not want to miss out on.

“Hmm…okay, but if you feel any worse again then you need to rest!”

I pull the case down from the cupboard and we start the mammoth task of packing.

Chapter 2

The Next Day…

The door flings open and Portia grips my hand as we are met with a sea of flashing lenses. Fighting our way out of the car is hard enough, but the lenses mean you can’t see a thing either. I step out guiding Portia behind me as our bodyguards step in to create a path for us to walk through to the door of the airport. All I can hear are a chorus of “ELLEN”, “PORTIA” and “THIS WAY”. I know the paparazzi have a job to do like you and I but it’s in situations like this I wish there was some kind of law against how far they can intrude our privacy. One reporter thrusts a microphone into Portia’s face asking her if we wanted children. Knowing how uncomfortable she is with the paparazzi I step in.

“Oh we decided long ago that children were not in our future. Not because we don’t like them we just don’t want to bring them up in this kind of environment, it just wouldn’t be fair”

I give a little tug at Portia’s hand quickening our pace, just wanting to get into the airport. A reporter I vaguely recognise asks about how I’m feeling and if I’m looking forward to Australia. “Much better thank you and I can’t wait” I respond before carefully manoeuvring myself and Portia between the bodyguards and the door to the terminal.

Once we have checked our bags in and been escorted through passport control, we are shown into our private waiting room where Andy Lassner and few of the other staff members, who have not yet flown to Australia, are already waiting.

“Hey guys, how ya’ll doing?” I ask as I have not seen them since I had to cancel my shows last week.

“Great thanks Ell how about you? You sure you’re up for this trip?” Andy asks concernedly.

“Much better thank you besides the paps, I need some vodka to get over them!” I laugh. “But besides that I’m good as new thanks to all that medication.”

“Were there many outside the airport then?” Mary one of our other producers asks.

“Oh there were hundred’s asking the same old questions” Portia replies whilst looking at me and rolling her eyes. I walk over to the sink and make us both a glass of water before we get on the plane. We have a good half an hour before we can begin to board. I walk back over to the sofa where Portia is sitting and as I pass the glass over the door behind me swings open. A tall exuberant man with a spiked up jet black hair and thick rimmed glasses walks into the room followed by someone in a kangaroo outfit. I laugh, not being able to hide my amusement at the outfit, and introduce myself to the man.

“Good evening Mrs DeGeneres”

“Oh call me Ellen please” I interrupt.

“Okay, Ellen, Portia I am James Anderson from Quantas airlines. I am here to thank you on behalf of Quantas for choosing to fly with us to Australia. If there is anything you need whilst on board the flight please don’t hesitate to ask one of our flight attendants.”

“Thank you honestly, without you this trip wouldn’t be possible” I exclaim.

“That’s quite okay; everyone in Australia is very excited to see you. Including our Quantas kangaroo who will be on board to welcome you to our special flight today.”

After a few minutes of obligatory small talk and photographs with James and the Kangaroo we are left alone to wait the last 20 minutes before the flight boards. The next 45 minutes seem to pass by very quickly as we chat and board the plane. Within no time we are all seated and ready for take-off. Mama was running a little late so she had to join us on the plane.

“Come on mama you’re delaying the flight, stop trying to flirt with the flight attendants!” I joke.

“Oh don’t be silly Ell this fine young man is far too young for me! I was just enquiring how long before we take off.”

“Okay mama I’m sure you were…” I say sarcastically. She responds by rolling her eyes and laughing at me as the planes intercom alerts the flight attendants to prepare for take off. As soon as I hear the intercom click off I feel a hand squeeze tightly on mine. I look around to see Portia with her eyes closed. Since I have known her she has always been apprehensive when taking off but lately, since she had watched a programme about plane crashes, her fears had got worse. I reach over and cup her cheek in my hand.

“Hey baby, it’s okay, nothings going to happen to you okay? The planes been thoroughly checked and this pilot is one of the best year?” She nods gently but it is obvious that she is still very nervous.

I gently kiss her on the other cheek and rest head on hers. After a few minutes I feel her eyelashes brushing my forehead as she opens her eyes. I look straight into her beautiful greeny blue eyes and slowly see the fear disappearing, being replaced by love and affection. This is the kind of look that is reserved for me only, the one that makes my heart flutter and the one I saw as I read my vows. I’ve almost forgotten where we are when I feel the plane starting to shake as it gathers speed and I see the fear returning into my wife’s eyes. As I feel the plane is about to lose touch with the ground I turn to Portia and place my lips softly onto hers. I feel her kissing me back as she replaces fear with passion and our world’s crash together. It is only when I hear my mama cough behind us that we pull apart again. “Thank you babe, I’m sorry I get so nervous when taking off” Portia says gently. I place a gentle kiss on her hand as we both settle in for the long flight to Australia.

Chapter 3

Fourteen hours later…

Waking up I feel a tap on my arm and slowly open my eyes to see Portia’s dressed ready to get off the plane. “Morning baby” she says placing a gentle kiss on my lips, we always wake each other up with a simple kiss in a morning, like normal. “Morning” I yawn groggily. “How long was I asleep for?”

“Don’t worry about that babe, as long as you’re rested ready for a long day. Now you’d better get dressed we’re landing in half an hour!”

“Mann I really did sleep for a long time” I laugh as I get up and head to the changing rooms.

A little over an hour later we have made our way through airport security and are heading to the exit, I am so excited to finally get a glimpse of the country I have heard so much about. Walking hand in hand I can feel Portia’s excitement to show me her home country as well. She hasn’t stop talking about all of the things we will get to see in Sydney since we got off the plane.

“I hope we get chance to go see the zoo like we have planned, I know you’ll love it!” she exclaims as we walk through the final doors into the main entrance hall of the terminal. As we turn the corner a choir starts singing and a crowd has gathered who are cheering like crazy. “WOW, Seriously?!” I mouth at the welcoming we have been greeted with. I suddenly recognise the song the choir are singing as “Land Down Under” and immediately start clapping and dancing with the choir much to the amusement of Portia, Mama and the other staff members. Once the choir have finished there are hundreds of reporters asking us questions, but to allow us to keep up with our schedule for the day we are quickly directed into a waiting car. On the way to the hotel Portia points out all the little places that used to be a part of her life growing up. Having this insight into Portia’s life growing up is the final part of the puzzle for me having always felt sad that I could not fit in a trip to see some of the places and people that mean the most to my wife.

When we arrive at the hotel we check in and make our way to our own rooms. We have about an hour or so before we head out to see the harbour and hopefully the zoo. I take Portia’s hand and lead her into our room shutting the door behind us. I go into the closet and drop our suitcases off inside for us to unpack later. As I walk out of the closet I stop to admire my wife who is marvelling at the view from our hotel window. I cannot begin to imagine what she has been through but her strength is incredible. I sneak up behind her and wrap my arms around her waist resting my chin on her shoulder.

“Hey beautiful” she says sweetly, resting her head against mine.

“Hey yourself, gosh this view is amazing isn’t it? I’ve only been here five minutes and I’m already in love with the place!”

We stand there for a while admiring the view and leaning on each other revelling in the comfortableness of the silence. I stand up a little as she turns around to face me. We are so close I feel her breath on my face as we smile and look into each other eyes. “I love you” she says simply as my heart skips a beat.

“I love you too, Port. I’m so glad to finally be able to see where you grow up” I respond placing a soft kiss onto her lips. Before long the passion overtakes us as she pushes me backwards onto the black leather sofa that sits in front of the window. She places her knees either side of my legs and I wrap my arms around her waist. Once again I feel her familiar lips colliding with mine and her hands stroking the back of my neck. I say it all the time but I really do fall in love with her more and more each day but in moments like this I really don’t think I could ever be more in love with her. I reach up and place my hand on her neck right below her ear so I am cupping her face. She instantly moans into my mouth as we continue to kiss. I break us apart fearing someone is watching through the window of the hotel. “You know there is one room we haven’t explored yet…” I smirk.

“Oh is there now? Well we can’t have that can we?” she responds giving me a wink and standing up off my lap. I stand up and grab her by the waist leading her into the bedroom. We both gasp at the beautiful décor around the room. My staff had made a good choice of hotel knowing my taste for furniture. However, we both quickly realised that admiring the décor could wait until later. Portia grabbed my hands and pulled me so quickly towards the bed that she fell backwards and I landed on top of her so that our bodies were resting upon each other. I was rather looking forward to the next hour….

Chapter Four

I look into the deep blue eyes of my wife and see only love looking back at me. I lift my head placing my lips onto hers creating a soft, delicate kiss. Bringing my hand up her body I brush past her breasts placing it on her chest so I can feel her heartbeat. As I deepen the kiss a moan escapes from her mouth and before I know it I am being flipped around. I feel her hands reaching for the buttons on my shirt but I stop her whispering “It’s my turn first”.

“Oh really? Who’s decided that then?”

“Me” I say playfully before pushing us completely onto the bed and starting to undo each button on her shirt individually. As I pull the shirt off her arms to reveal her bra I cheekily rub my hands down the bra and over her nipples which causes her to inhale sharply. I love teasing my wife, it’s too easy and she looks so cute. I reach around unhooking her bra whilst placing a quick peck on her lips. Within no time we are both naked and the heat between us is unbearable. I begin to grind my leg on her and immediately feel her wetness on my leg.

“Oh god, Ell your so wet!!” I exclaim immediately feeling the urge to touch her. As my fingers begin to rub her clit she moans quietly into my neck. I feel her hands start to wonder around my body distracting me from what I was doing. I envelope my other arm around her back pulling her mouth onto mine, my tongue searching her lips for an entrance into her mouth. I feel her lips parting and our tongues begin to dance around each other. This sudden passion surge immediately quickens my pace and I begin to work my way from her clit to her passage. I plunge two fingers into her at a steady pace until I feel the muscles in her stomach begin to contract as her hips are thrusting forward. I immediately withdraw my fingers and lift my weight upwards.

“OH GOD, PORT PLEASE” Ellen screams as I trace kisses down her chest and stomach. I hesitate a little to keep her on edge before I reach my destination and my tongue begins to explore. I can feel how close she is so I reach my hand up to her breast and begin to play which is the last straw to push her over the edge. I feel her muscles contracting throughout her body as she screams my name. I am so turned on by this I almost orgasm myself. I slowly bring Ellen down returning my lips to hers in a slower, more gently kiss that shows my love for her.

“God, baby that was amazing, I love you so much Portia”

“I love you too baby” I whisper. I roll over to cuddle into her but before I realise what is happening I feel lips press against my own and a hand reaching between my thighs. It doesn’t take Ellen long before I am screaming her name. Every muscle in my body is overcome with pleasure at her touch. After what seems like hour’s I recover enough to gain the energy to move my arms so I am cuddling into her. I feel safer in her arms than I have ever felt in my life. It genuinely feels like when I am with Ellen I am home for the first time in my life. I turn to look at my wife and take in her beautiful body. “You okay babe? You seem quiet?” she asks concernedly.

“Of course babe, I’m just thinking about and how happy you make me that’s all. Honestly Ell you complete me and I see the rest of my life with you yaknow?”

“Awww baby, you make me so happy too and I’m proud to be able to call you my wife.”

Chapter Five

I wake up to a loud knocking on the main door of the hotel room. “Ell, Port you in there? Come on we’re going to be late” I hear Mama shouting. I jump out of bed and run to answer the door.

“Sorry Mama! We fell asleep! Come in I’ll wake Port up and we’ll get changed”

“I thought no one was in! What are you too like…?” she laughs as she sits down on the sofa. I run into the bedroom to see that Portia has already stolen the bathroom so I grab a shirt and some jeans from my suitcase and quickly change into them. Within a few minutes we both emerge into the living room, apologise to my Mama and we all make our way down to the waiting car. We are making our way to catch the ferry across the harbour so we can visit the zoo. When we arrive at the ferry there are already hundreds of people and paparazzi waiting.

“Do you want me to try and get as close to the entrance as possible M’am?” the driver asks.

“Yes please if you don’t mind that would be fantastic.”

We pull up right next to the gates and the door flings open. I grab Portia’s hand leading her from the car and leaving my Mama to follow us after the crowd has gone. We make our way through the crowd into the ferry terminal and onboard the ferry. I can tell Portia is excited to point things out to me onboard the ferry so we take a seat onboard the top deck. We spend the rest of the day looking around Sydney and the zoo. Around mid-afternoon we decide to head back to the hotel to get ready for an evening meal.

Whilst Portia rings the restaurant to make the reservations I hop into the shower. I am soaping myself down when I feel two arms wrap themselves around me. I let myself sink into the warm, familiar embrace resting my head on my wife’s. We stand like this, letting the water flow between her chest and my body, appreciating the comfortable silence and the intimacy of the hug. After a few minutes Portia grabs the shower pouf I was using to soap myself and continues the job for me. Watching my beautiful wife I can’t help but get increasingly turned on. When she has finished I grab the pouf from her and return the favour whilst she rubs some shampoo into my hair. Once we have both finished washing the shampoo out of our hair Portia goes to grab a towel but I stop her pulling her into my body. I look into her eyes and my heart skips a beat. When neither of us can take it anymore our lips crash together causing me to fall backwards into the wall. My hands start wondering over her body and I get lost with how sexy my wife’s body is. I am brought back down to earth when I feel my wife’s hand reach the part of me that is most sensitive. I let out a small moan as she begins to roll my clit around. I suddenly have the need to touch her and reach down and plunge two fingers inside her.

“OH GOD” she exclaims putting all of her weight onto me. I quicken the pace as she pushes her fingers into me and I feel a sudden pleasure surge through my body. As the water cascades between us I feel myself reaching my high. I begin to rub her clit as my fingers move in and out of her so we come together. I feel myself start to shake and a warmth surges from the tips of my toes to the top of my head. At the same time I feel Portia’s muscles clamp down around my fingers and before long we are both screaming each others names. After a few minutes we collapse into each other completely out of breath.

“I don’t even know how many times we’ve done that but I swear it gets better every time” I pant. “Mmmm..” Portia giggles. Once I regain some of my energy I turn the shower off and grab us two towels from the rack and wrap us both up in them.

Chapter Six

By the time we are ready to go we only have about ten minutes to get to the restaurant so we hurry out of the room and into the lift. I look over at Portia nervously adjusting her dress in the mirror of the lift. Something seems off about her but I ignore it brushing it off that she is nervous that the paparazzi are going to be waiting outside the hotel. It doesn’t help that I can’t take my eyes off her in that dress. She is wearing a pink floral maxi dress that hangs just perfectly on her amazing body. Just then the ding of the lift reaching its destination pulls me from my perfect daydream. I grab Portia’s hand and we emerge into the foyer of the hotel. A thin lady with slightly greying hair, from reception, immediately jumps from her seat and comes over to us.

“Ms Degeneres, I’m sorry to disturb you but if you would like to follow me I will lead you to your car. There has been a crowd of people waiting outside the hotel for a few hours now so we feel it’s best for you to go from so you don’t get followed to your destination.”

“Ah thank you, erm..”

“Gloria”

“Thank you Gloria, if you could let them know after we have left that if they come back tomorrow we will gladly go out and say hey”

“Of course, right it’s just out of those double doors there and you should see him waiting on the road.” She stops and gestures towards the two fire doors that are being held open by two rather large security men. We thank her, say our goodbyes and exit through the double doors into the waiting limo.

Portia’s POV

Once I am ready I grab my bag and quickly check the zip pocket to make sure my surprise for Ellen is still there. Just then I hear Ellen shouting me from in the lounge to hurry up as we are going to be late. I quickly grab a loose cardigan as the Australian night’s can get a little chilly take a deep breath in, then out and leave the bedroom grabbing my wife’s waiting hand. We always hold hand’s everywhere we go, it gives us a safety that we are there and the way my hand feels in hers is perfect. As we reach the lift I take a look into the mirror, nervously adjusting my dress. I try to calm myself down saying to myself that it’s not a big deal, that I know her the best out of anyone and that she’s going to love it but nothing will seem to work. I can feel her eyes watching me and I know that she’s concerned at my strange behaviour. I feel her familiar hand grab for mine as the doors to our lift open. I see a lady walking over in our direction but I am so distracted I don’t really register what she is saying. I am awoken from my daydream once we are in the car and my wife nudges me.

“Portia, hellooooooo is there anyone in thereeeeee?” she laughs.

“Sorry babe.. what were you saying?”

“Are you okay? You seem distracted?”

“Yeahh course sorry I think I’m just really tired is all” I lie trying to cover up the real reason I am so distracted knowing that she’ll see straight through it. Thankfully she decides to buy it for now.

“hmm…okay port but tell me if your too tired and want to go home yeah?”

“Course I will babe don’t worry” I say whilst giving my wife the best reassuring smile I can. In my head all I can think of is what I am about to do. I know though that I have to do it tonight so I can get the plan ready in time.

Ellen’s POV

Portia’s been strangely quiet since we left the hotel room and I can tell she hasn’t been listening to me in the car. She told me she was just tired but I know when she’s trying to hide something important as she does this cute little smile that tries to reassure me. I have let her get away with it so far as I don’t want to ruin our evening. As the car pulls up to the restaurant we can see that for the first time since we got here the place has not been surrounded by fans and paparazzi. As much as we love the fans and want to see them as much as possible we also want to spend time together alone. I don’t get much time off when I’m filming the show so weekends and holidays are great for us to spend much needed time together. Although this is technically a working holiday we also want to spend some time together as we’re not sure when we will next be able to visit this beautiful country. The driver comes round and opens the passenger door to the limo.

“M’am” he says as he gestures for my hand and helps me out.

I continue to help Portia out and we make our way to the door of the restaurant thanking the driver. I hold the door open for Portia to walk through and she makes her way to the desk to let the waiter know we have arrived. I follow her and the waiter through the restaurant wondering where we are heading. The waiter takes us up some stairs and opens the door to reveal a balcony with a table set up especially for us.

“Wow” I say smiling.

“This is beautiful, thank you it’s perfect” Portia says to the waiter.

“That’s good, my name is Jayden and I’m your waiter for the evening. Here’s you menu’s I’ll be back shortly to take your order. If you need anything just give us a shout.”

“Thank you Jayden” I say as he heads back through the door into the restaurant.

Portia’s POV

After seeing what Jayden had managed to set up for us in the short space of time was amazing. I had managed to sneakily let him know of my plans for the evening whilst Ellen had been in the shower earlier. I had no idea he would be able to come up with something this spectacular in the short amount of time though. Looking out over the rooftops of Sydney, the stars in the sky and the candles laid perfectly around the balcony I just knew it was perfect. This had made me slightly less apprehensive of what I was about to do and I relaxed into the meal, chatting happily with my wife. It was only when we had finished out main course that the nerves suddenly came back. I excused myself rather hastily and made my way to the bathroom. Looking in the mirror all I could see written on my face was nerves, this was not how I wanted the evening to go. How did Ellen remain so calm when she asked me? I wondered. I try to compose myself the best I can and exit the bathroom as I know Ellen will be wondering where I am by now. Making my way through the restaurant I feel someone grab me by the arm and suddenly I am spinning round.

“Portia, it’s okay its me” Jayden laughed at the confused expression on my face.

“Oh haha sorry, I’m not really with it I’m so nervous!”

“That’s okay don’t worry, everyone gets nervous”

“But I have a whole ceremony planned what if she says no!” I start to panic.

“Hey, look I don’t know you very well obviously but even I can see that she adores you. You have nothing to worry about I can guarantee it. Other than her fainting from shock I suppose.” He jokes trying to make me loosen up a bit.

“I guess so….thank you Jayden. That was a great help” I smile a little more relaxed after that reassurance.

“Right, are you ready now?” He asks.

“I think so…”

“Right well go get her Portia”

“Thanks” I shout already making my way back to my waiting wife.

Ellens POV

Looking out over the balcony I start to notice things about Sydney that I had not had time yet to look at. Since we got here it’s been one place to the next. I haven’t had time to sit and marvel at the sights since me and Portia we’re admiring the view from our hotel room when we got here. “Mann that feels like a week ago” I think to myself realising that it was only today. I look at my watch to check the time wondering where Portia has got to. She’s definitely been weird tonight and I can’t put my finger on it. With that I hear the door behind me open and close softly and before long I feel two hands creeping themselves around my waist.

“Hey baby, you were a long time” I say.

“Sorry, I got talking to Jayden” she laughs.

“oooh, I see. I was just looking out over the rooftops. This city is so beautiful babe, I can see what I’ve been missing out on”

“I know right!” she laughs. We stand there quietly for a moment just enjoying each other and the comfortable silence.

“Hey, Ell” Portia says after a few minutes.

“Yeah, babe” I respond as she pulls her arms from around my waist. I turn around to face her and see she is fumbling around for something in her pocket.

“Sorry, hang on” she says. After a few seconds I see her face light up and assume she has found what she is looking for. She grabs my hand and looks right into my eyes. I feel my knees go weak as I see the love in her eyes.

“So..I have a little surprise for you. I know we’re already married and we’ve done the whole white wedding ceremony thing. But I dunno I guess some of my family missed out on that as they were here. And you know I love you right?” she stutters out. I can see how nervous she is and feel how much her hand is shaking.

“Of course, Port I love you more than anything and I’m sorry your family missed -“ I am cut off by my wife’s finger being placed against my lips. Realising she hasn’t finished I stop talking to let her continue.

“Ssssh, your making this harder than it already is!” she laughs. “As I was saying…I love you so so much, Ell you’re my world and I would love it if you would do the honour of renewing our vows together, here in Australia?” she says know down on one knee with a ring placed carefully into a green velvet box.

“Wow. Port baby, I don’t know what to say” I am completely in shock. “Wow, of course!” I manage to stutter out before floods of tears start running down my cheeks. Portia grabs my hand delicately placing the ring she has brought onto my finger behind my wedding ring. I reach out desperate to feel her in my arms. She stands up and wraps her arms around my neck pulling me into her embrace. After a while I pull back with a huge goofy grin on my face, the kind I reserve for only Portia to see. “Thank you baby, this is amazing.” I say wiping the remaining tears from my face. Portia cups my cheek in the palm of her hand and before long our lips are together moving in sync. I then hear people clapping behind us and turn to see Jayden and a few of the other waiters standing in a line. I smile and walk over to them thanking them and hugging them, all the while still holding onto my amazing wife’s hand.

Chapter Seven

Portia’s POV

Before long we are walking back into the lift up to our hotel room. I am still shaking, partly from how nervous I was to ask her but partly because of the excitement that she said yes and knowing what is about to happen. Suddenly as the doors to the lift have closed behind I us I feel myself being pulled into Ellen. I get a sudden rush of warmth throughout my entire body as I feel her hands wrap themselves around my waist and those familiarly, delicious lips press themselves to mine. I move my hands so one is holding her back and the other is cupping her head. I feel Ellens tongue licking my bottom lip begging for entry so I open my mouth a little. Before long our tongues are dancing inside my mouth and this combined with the way her hands are moving around my body is enough to make my knees weak. The lift door’s open and I feel myself being dragged out of the lift. In that moment I couldn’t care whether there was anyone else watching us. However, luckily the floor was empty and before long we had reached our door. I pull away giving myself chance to breath.

“K-Key” I pant. Seeming to understand what I am trying to look for she helps me grab my handbag and search the contents for our room key.

“Got it!” She exclaims. I pick up the rest of the stuff we have emptied onto the floor of the corridor and chuck it into the room. Leaving my handbag on the floor next to the pile of stuff, we shut the door and race each other into the bedroom.

Ellens POV

Reaching the bedroom first I switch the light on, turn around and pull Portia onto the bed. She lets out a giggle, which makes me smile both inside and outside. The effect this woman has on me is incredible. I tug a little at the strap of her dress pulling her head towards mine. I softly kiss her cheek before moving to her lips. I feel two hands making their way over my whole body, giving me shivers from head to toe. Portia pulls away from my lips and looks me directly in the eye.

“Thank you” she says softly.

“What for?”

“For being you, for saying yes tonight, for wanting to spend the rest of your life with me, for everything Ell. I honestly couldn’t be happier.”

The next morning….

I feel the warm sun beating through the window of the hotel and slowly begin to wake up. I roll over and see my wife’s stunning body glowing in the sunlight. I just stare at how peaceful she looks as she is sleeping. After a while I get up to go to the loo and on my way back I turn to look at the clock. Seeing that it is only 9am I roll back over pulling Portia into me and snuggling next to her. I feel her moving beneath my arms and pull back to look at her.

“mmmm…Ell your cold” she mumbles.

“I’m sorry babe, did I wake you?”

“mmmm well..kinda but I love waking up next to you babe” she giggles.

We lie there for another half hour chatting to each other and talking about what we have planned for the day. I’m filming my show in Sydney today so against our own wishes we have to get up. Ideally I would have loved to spend the day in bed with my wife but as this is a working holiday I can’t do that. The next few day’s in Sydney pass quickly and we have even managed to make all the arrangements for our little ceremony in Melbourne. We have chosen an idyllic spot on a private beach a little out of Melbourne to try and evade the paparazzi. Portia can’t be happier to have some of her family come along and I can’t wait to meet them.

Chapter Eight

Ellens POV

*DIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIING*

‘What is that noise?’ I think to myself slowly coming around from a deep sleep. When I realise it is the alarm I reach out and switch it off. I flop back onto the bed rubbing my eyes and turn to place my arm around Portia. As I bring my arm down I feel the cover of the bed with a piece of paper placed on top. I groan realising that Portia is no longer there. I sit up and read the piece of paper that has been left in her place. It reads:

Good Morning Darling I hope you slept well.

As it’s technically our wedding day I thought I would honour the tradition of not seeing you until later. I have left to get ready, if you dial room service they already have a special breakfast for you. I have left you in the capable hands of your mom who should be round in about half an hour. I can’t wait to see you later today is going to be so special I know it.

Love Always,
Your Portia.
Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Smiling at the little happy face she has left me in the corner of the page I cannot help but think again about how lucky I am that she is mine. I turn around to look at the clock and realise I only have 10 more minutes until my mom is due to arrive. I jump out of bed and ring down to room service for my breakfast. I quickly grab some clothes, get changed and before I know it room service have arrived with my breakfast.

10 minutes later…

Finishing off my drink and looking out over the Melbourne skyline I hear a light tap at the door.

“Cominggg!” I shout through making my way to the door. I open the door and in steps my mama dressed in a white chiffon top, beige trousers and a simple but elegant gold necklace.

“Good morning, El” she says as she steps through the door and makes her way over to the table in the lounge area.

“Morning Mama” I exclaim a little too excitedly.

“Someone’s excited” she laughs setting her clutch bag down onto the coffee table.

“Well…no one else gets to marry the most beautiful girl in the world, let alone twice” I giggle like an excited schoolgirl.

“Oh El what are we going to do with you?” she says shaking her head. “Talking of which your not gonna be going anywhere if your not dressed, come on..” With that she ushers me in the direction of the bathroom.

“Okay, okay I’m going..” I reach the bathroom and start the shower up. Whilst I am taking a shower Mama goes to fetch my suit from the storage room the hotel kindly let us to keep it in. After a long warm soak in the shower I step out, pop on the underwear I sneakily brought for myself when shopping for my dress, wrap a towel around myself and make my way into the bedroom where my Mama is ironing the white trousers of my suit. Within no time I am standing in front of the floor length mirror in the bedroom preparing myself to declare my heart for the second time. The grey waistcoat contrasts perfectly with the white of my shirt and trousers. I begin to think back to standing in front of the mirror in our house on our wedding day. I remember being incredibly nervous and thinking how amazing it was that things had worked out perfectly for us to get our marriage recognised properly. I begin to sidetrack myself thinking once again about the anger I had for proposition 8 and how hundreds of people were stopped from having their marriages legally recognised like me and Port had. I am roused my thoughts by a hand on my shoulder.

“You look beautiful El. I didn’t think it was possible but I’m just as proud as you now if not more now than I was on your wedding day.” she says brushing a tear from her eye.

Portia’s POV

This morning has gone by in a flash. I am currently sitting in the car on the way to the private beach we have booked for the ceremony. The nerves I felt on my wedding day begin to resurface and I just hope that today goes well. I hope El wasn’t too mad that I left her this morning but knowing her I’m sure she was completely fine and I’m just worrying about nothing. My thoughts are interrupted as the car shuts off its engine and my door is opened by the driver. I step out of the car and am greeted by my mother beaming over at me from the other side of the car park to the beach.

“Moooom, what are you doing here?”

“Well..how could I miss my daughter renewing her vows! Talking of which where was my invitation?”

“Oh…erm…yeah about that, I didn’t think you’d be able to get a flight so quickly” I stammer awkwardly.

“haha don’t worry Portia I’m not mad, and I’m here now anyway so it doesn’t matter. Oh and I kinda brought some of the family with me if you don’t mind?”

“Of course not! Whos here?”

“You’ll have to see, we have to get down onto the beach otherwise Ell’s gonna be here and you won’t be at the front ready”

I laugh and follow her quickly down onto the beach. After waving and greeting the family that have flown over I make my way to the front and nervously await the arrival of my wife.

Ellens POV

I am sitting inside the 1959 Austin Princess we have hired for the day as we turn into the car park of the beach. Suddenly I feel incredibly nervous as I am preparing myself to step from the car. Having the tables turned and having to walk up the aisle I have to admit is odd but that’s not what is worrying me the most. I have not had the chance to meet some of the Port’s family yet due to my hectic schedule so meeting them for the first time at our commitment ceremony does not exactly help. I feel the difference between the tarmac and the wet sand as the car makes its way onto the beach. Before long the image of my wife comes into view and any of the worries I had are now a distant memory. I step from the car and am immediately transfixed by her beauty. Her perfect curves are accentuated by a dress which flicks out at her knees with a mesh of netting. I see her face light up instantly as I step out. I grab my Mama’s arm and we make our way across the sand and down the aisle. All the way my eyes are fixed on Portia’s and her sheer beauty has brought a tear to my eye. I try to mask it by letting out a little giggle but Mama notices.

“Pssssst stop crying, you’ll ruin my beautiful make-up job” she whispers in my ear. I laugh and wipe the tear from my eye composing myself as we walk. For the first time I hear the melodic sounds of a guitar playing our wedding song. I smile thinking back to that day and how similar this moment is to that same one 4 years earlier. After what seems like an enternity I finally reach Portia. My Mama lets go of my hand and places it into Portias.

“Omg, you look beautiful. Honestly, I have no words.” I say to Portia.

“Baby, you look incredible” she whispers as she wipes a tear from her face. I squeeze her hand tight and turn to face Ebony who is officiating the ceremony. I hear the music stop playing behind us and people shuffling to find their seats but in truth I am so absorbed by Portia I am not really taking notice of anything else around me.

“Everyone, I would like to welcome you to this celebration of marriage. Ellen and Portia, it is a pleasure to share today’s very special occasion with you, your friends and family.” Ebony begins. “Many people believe that entering into marriage is the final step in a romantic relationship. As they see it, a couple meets, gets to know each other, falls in love, decided they want to go through life together, and then take the final step – marriage. But marriage is not meant to be the final step in a couple’s relationship – it is really just the beginning of a great adventure.” She pauses looking from me to Portia and smiling.

“You have both shared the joys, blessings, and yes, the challenges of married life for 4 years. And today you wish to reconfirm your commitment to working together to make your marriage grow and blossom in the years to come in front of your families. May this ceremory remind you that despite the stressed inevitable in every life, your love, respect, trust and understanding of each other will continue to increase your contentment within each other. If you would like to join hands.”

I turn to face Portia grabbing her other hand and realise that at this point we both have tears streaming down our faces. My make-up is probably ruined but I couldn’t care. I look into her eyes and see nothing but love.

“Ellen, will you continue to have Portia as your wife and continue to live in this happy and loving marriage?”

“I w-i-ll” I stammer out, the tears getting the better of me.

“Do you reaffirm your love for her, and will you love, honour and cherish her in sickness and in health, for richer or poorer, for better for worse, and forsaking all others, be faithful to her as long as you both shall live?”

“I do”

“Portia, will you continue to have Ellen as your wife and continue to live in this happy and loving marriage?”

“I will” she says firmly, beaming at me.

“Do you reaffirm your love for her, and will you love, honour and cherish her in sickness and in health, for richer or poorer, for better for worse, and forsaking all others, be faithful to her as long as you both shall live?”

“I do”

“I believe you now have a few words to say to each other, Ellen if you would like to go first?”

I let out a deep breath before starting to stop myself from crying.

“Thank you Ebony. Well..what can I say Port? The last eight years have been the best of my life. Honestly you make me so happy, I love you so much. Since we have been married I just have that sense of security I have never had in my life. I am completely content for the first time in my life.” I pause, smiling at my wife. “I wake up every morning and still can’t believe that your mine. You are the best thing that has ever happened to me. Four years ago, I pledged my love and commitment to you, but it seems like only yesterday. I promised to love you, honor you, comfort and keep you. I pledged to be by your side in sickness and in health, in times of want, and times of plenty, for better or worse, for the rest of our lives. We have had all of those things, and you have been by my side as we created a life together. Today I renew my vows to you, pledging my eternal love for you, and eagerly awaiting what life may bring us.” I manage to finish before bursting into tears of happiness.

“Portia?” Ebony questions.

Portia clears her throat and wipes away the tears that are rolling down her cheeks.

“Wow, Ell. Where do I begin?....I love you.” She pauses then laughs as if she doesn’t know what to say next. I hear a rumble of laughter from behind me in amongst the blowing of noses and the clicking of cameras.

“You’re my everything Ell. Honestly, without you I wouldn’t be half the person I am today. With great joy, four years ago I pledged my love and commitment to you on our wedding day. Our family and friends first showed us how to love, helped us grow, and supported us when we found each other. I hope they will continue to love and support us as we love and support them. I have always loved you and will always love you. You are part of me, the best part of me. With you by my side, I have grown so much. We have evolved and transformed together. We have endured together, laughed and cried together. With you as my partner, the best is yet to be. Therefore, I am delighted today, in the presence of these witnesses, to reaffirm my commitment to you, and once again, to promise to love you, honor you, and comfort you, in sickness and in health, for richer, for poorer, for better and for worse, as long as we both shall live.” She finishes by letting out the breath she’s been holding in to stop herself from crying.

“Thank you, Ellen and Portia. On your wedding day you exchanged rings as a symbol of the never-ending circle of love. Rings serve us as a reminder of your wedding vows to each other, and your commitment to live in unity, love and happiness. At this time it is appropriate to reconfirm the meaning of the rings you wear. Please join your left hands together so that Ellen’s hand is on top. Ellen, repeat after me.”

We join our hands and I nod to show my understanding.

“Portia, I wear this ring you placed on my hand as a symbol of my love and commitment to you” I repeat and Ebony asks us to swap over and Portia also repeats this.

“I ask that you each remember to continue to cherish each other as special and unique individuals and that you each respect the thoughts and ideas of one another. And most of all live each day in love with each other, always being there to give love and comfort to each other.”

“Ellen and Portia, today you have renewed the promises and vows you made to each other on your wedding day. You have symbolised the renewal of the marriage union by the joining of hands, the taking of vows and by the wearing of your wedding rings. It is with pleasure that I conclude the ceremony. Please celebrate this renewal of vows with a kiss.”

I look deep into Portia’s eyes, and bring my hands up to the back of her neck. Our heads draw into each other and I feel a soft breath on my face before my lips meet those soft familiar ones of my wife. I run my tongue along her bottom lip before smiling into the kiss. We pull away and turn to face our friends and family who by this point are all on their feet taking pictures and smiling.

I look over at Portia who is beaming just as much as me. We make our way back down the aisle greeting people as we go. Portia quickly introduces me to some of the people I have not yet met and we assure each other that we will met properly later at the reception. When we reach the end of the aisle we turn and wave at our friends and family before making our way towards the private part of the beach which has been set aside for us to wait until the reception area has been set up properly.

We walk hand-in-hand for a while before either of us speak, content within the comfortable silence. Portia is the first to break the silence.

“Thank you.” She almost whispers.

“What for babe?”

“Just for I dunno, today, every day, for loving me. Just everything I guess.” She smiles at me.

“Awww babe, you never have to thank me for that okay? I meant what I said just honest, I am yours for the rest of our lives.”

“I know, and so am I. I gotta say though that was way more emotional than our wedding day”

“Oh I know, I don’t think there was a moment where I wasn’t crying” I laugh then pull us to a stop. We stand watching the waves crash over the sand with our arms around each other. The perfect Australian evening only adds to the beauty of the day. I turn a look into Portia’s eyes before pulling her in for a more intimate kiss. Our tongues dance together and the passion within us ignites. I pull back before things get too heated on a beach full of our friends and family.

“You know Port…”

“Yeah?”

“I really am one lucky girl” I smile pulling her along the beach into our private section.

“And so am I Mrs DeGeneres” she laughs.

“Oh you are, are you? Why’s that then Mrs DeGeneres?” I tease her.

“I think you know…” she says before pulling me down onto a blanket that has been placed on the ground. I wrap my arms around her waist and lean in for a heart poundingly passionate kiss. After a few minutes I pull away for one final time before the passion takes over.

“This has been one heck of a holiday..” I laugh.

“Oh it sure has” she agrees.

The End.
